Calling all Early Risers!!!

Recommended Posts

I always wake up really early when I'm home so I just know I'll be doing the same thing when I cruise next month. :) To avoid disturbing my suite-mates, I was wondering what you do if you're an early riser like me? I know I can hide out on the balcony and watch the sun rise (yum), but have any of you snuck out and just hung out somewhere on board? Come on... fess up.... :D

I'm the same way, I will get up at 6:00 am even on the weekends when I don't work. I think on my upcoming cruise and I wake up early I'm going to go and do the jogging track, in my case walk the jogging track then had for some coffee. I knew on port days I will watch us arrive in port can't think of a nicer way to start a day than being on deck bets getting ready and heading to the office anyday.;)

DH always wakes up a lot earlier than I do, so he gets up and goes to windjammer gets coffee and brings it back to the room for me. It is nothing better to sit on the balcony drinking coffee and the watching the ship dock or sailing and watching the early dawn sea and sky.

I'm also an early riser :) . What I did on our last 2 cruises (Disney) was to have an outfit ready near the bed and when I get up, do a quick change and sneak out. At that time I was into running so I'd hit the jog track for a bit then get some coffee and hang out on deck. It always seemed weird to me to be on this big ship and have noone around. It was nice!

In a few weeks we'll be heading out on the Navigator for the 7-day Eastern. So Im sure I'll do the same thing but walking instead of jogging this time.:o

Oh my where do I start.....go the WJ and get some coffee or juice or hot tea (whatever your morning drink of choice). Stroll out on the the Pool deck and enjoy the sunrise or the morning; people watch; take your drink of choice and stroll the promenade; check out the exercise room; take your drink of choice and head to the whirlpools or sauna room; relax in the solarium....I could go on and on and on.

Wish I were going

Ooooh, I'm lovin' this... thanks for your replies everyone! I like that getting up and 'walking' :) the jogging track and afterwards stopping by the Windjammer for juice, coffee, whatever... does anyone know what time the WJ opens?

I think it's 6:30, on Voyager and Freedon Class ships, the Cafe Promenade is open 24hrs

You will find me in the CL drink my FREE cappucino or latte, with FREE continental breakfast to eat. DH meets me there to goto dining room for breakfast if not lunch sometimes when he sleeps in.

One night he came back from the casino & threw $100 bills in bed with me. NOW THAT WAS A PARTY!

I always lay out my running gear and gym bag the night before, wake up early and hit the fitness center at 6. Once I finish my workout I can get cleaned up at the gym. By the time I get back (usually around 7:30) my family of girls is starting to move and I'm ready for breakfast....Has worked well on the past two cruises.

I love getting up early - sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up - I take insulated coffee mugs - so I run down and grab coffee - this year I plan on exercising early and I would love to be on deck and do tai chi (I only know the basic moves - but it still is fun).

DH has been working so hard this past year - I would love to see him sleep in and rest -

It is so peaceful early in the morning with the sound of the ocean- I am so ready for this cruise!!! Jan

On our last 2 cruises with DCL we had a balcony, now on Navigator we have the family suite with no balcony...I KNOW I'm going to miss that!!! :( but it was the only thing available at the time of booking for a family of 5. I'll just have to enjoy my morning coffee up on deck. :) My DH has also had a very long, stressful year at his job. I am looking forward to him having a week of rest and relaxation...so no waking him up at 7am...lol.

23 days left...yay!!!

I'm another early riser, even if I don't have to go to work. If I sleep past 7:00 on the weekend, I feel like my day's shot. Never used to be that way; I'm sure it comes with age.

On our last cruise, our day would start a little before 7:00 am, when our phone would ring to alert us that our coffee, tea and danish would be delivered soon from room service. Then we would sit out on our balcony and enjoy the view while our girls still slept in. Then we'd get ready for breakfast; alternated WJ and dining room. (my husband loves eggs Benedict)

Ordinarily I'm not an early riser but when I'm on a cruise I'm up and out early. DH is still sleeping and I'll call him later to meet at the WJ. I love sitting on the balcony or when pulling into port at the front of the ship taking pictures and then have my tea and relax by the pool area, aahhhh.:D

I'm at the gym when they open at 6 for a quick workout and run then bring coffee back to the room for my wife. I love to get in a workout and she loves to be woken up by a fresh cup of joe. Also, the ship is so peaceful in the early morning; it's amazing!

I am generally up around 4:30 so will head for the walking track but not before a cup of coffee. On other RCCL ships I have been there are places you can get coffee 24 hours. Anyway I like that time of the morning, so nice and quiet and not too many folks about. A perfect way to start the day. Hey, you can always take a nap later on.:) :) :) :) :)

I get up early to save the "prime" chairs by the pool!

Just Joking!

I have to get up at 4:00am for my job and its a hard habit to break. I just sit on the balcony or go up on deck and watch the sun rise. We have late seating and I always have to take a short nap so I dont start nodding off at dinner
