cruzfiend Posted October 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Can anyone tell me if my nextel is going to work in Hawaii, both the two way and cell? Thanks:confused:
clm101798 Posted October 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Yes, A co-worker has done both from Hawaii to Massachusetts. She said that the cell phone charges may be high though, depending on your plan of course.
spleen93 Posted October 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2006 All major cell phone companies are represented in Hawaii. Nextel is no exception ... and yes, the walkie-talkie function works as well. Spleen
cruzfiend Posted October 12, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 12, 2006 Thank You Very much for your replies. The two way will come in handy, as we are traveling w/people who all have nextel. (In case we get lost);)
Jfeasel Posted October 12, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 12, 2006 If you have their Nationwide direct connect, you will not be charged to use the Walkie Talkie feature! We had a group of 11 on the Aug. 5 cruise and 5 of us had NexTel, it was great. Of course, if you won't have coverage when you're out at sea, but on the islands, it's great. (no one has coverage way out at sea). Also, if you have free long distance, there's no charge to call. We called home several times and incurred no extra charges.
