Hi Kim,

We are cruising on Carnival Miracle on 10/29 and have booked horseback riding in Cozumel through Cancun Discounts. Go to

http://www.cancun-discounts.com/cancun-horseback-riding.htm?OVRAW=horseback%20riding%20in%20cozumel&OVKEY=horseback%20riding%20in%20cozumel&OVMTC=standard

I don't know when you are going but if it is after we get back I'll be happy to let you know how it was for us. The cost was $45 per person and you have to arrange your own tranportation to the site.

Hope this helps.

There is a 2 hour horseback riding tour available for $30. They have 2 locations, one about 5 minutes via taxi from the southern pier and another across from the Nachi Cocum Beach. Both go through a jungle trail.

Due to sanitation issues Cozumel does not offer horseback riding on the beaches here.

My family went to Mr. Sancho's last month. My son and I did the ATV adventure. It was $30 for 30 minutes and my wife and daughter did the horseback riding and it was $20 for 30 minutes. The trail takes you out to the beach. The horses did not go in the water, but stay in the sand near the jungle, probably about 20 or 30 yards away from where the water is breaking on the beach.

Hi,

We made it back on Sunday despite the weather (14 foot seas on Saturday).

The place we went riding was OK. It rained all the way there but stopped soon after we arrived. It was a hole-in-the-wall place and we were a little sceptical when we got there. It was just my husband and I with the guide. He turned out to be friendly and knowlegible about the area and the horses were well cared for and well behaved. We did mostly very narrow trails and half way we stopped at a small souvenier plaza (high pressure sales).

Carnival did an excursion the same day at another ranch and we found out that those that booked through Carnival had a great time (walk, trot and canter - we could only trot at most). The cost difference was reduced drastically since we had a $50 taxi ($25 each way). Next time we will book this through Carnival even though it will cost more.

Mosquitos weren't really bad but they were there. I used repellant and had no trouble.

We also booked Capt. Marvin's ourselves for the Stingray City excursion and it was fantastic. Very short walk from the pier, very friendly and capable staff. So booking yourself is not always good or bad.
