lunch in Russia

Recommended Posts

There are 6 of us on a RO tour. Day two will be lunch with a Russian family. Several people in the group are worried about lunch the first day since diptheria has been mentioned on these boards and in books. We would like a quick lunch on day one. Does anyone have any suggestions? We could take lunch from the ship and yes I know there are problems there. What do other people do on the non-lunch day with a with Russian family? Thank you.

Last year we stopped at one of RO's recommended restaurants for lunch. Since the orders had been called in earlier in the morning (our guide had the menu with her) the service was relatively fast.

The restaurant was air-conditioned and quite clean. It gave everyone a chance to utilize the restrooms and take a break. Our group enjoyed it. I think we were in and out in 45 minutes or less. The food was good too.

We just got back and we did the same as above, we had lunch at two of their recommended Rest. The fish or chicken selection was great. You got a salad, Borsh soup and main course. It was reasonable for price and both very nise rest.
