Alright, it's just shortly after 10:30pm and I am going to go off line and get dressed and washed and take a water taxi to St-Marks Square and to the Grand Lido Casino and come back at what time who knows...I am not even tired which I can't believe since I only had about 2.5 hour sof sleep on the Montreal-Frankfurt flight.

Tony, Glad to see you back on a "Live from" thread. Now we can cruise along with you again. I was out for the day and had to catch up on 3 pages of your "Live from the Golden". Thanks for posting again so we can enjoy Europe with you. Lucky you! Owner's Suite! Wow! Won't Envy be envious? lol. She should have waited to cruise with you. Her cruise is over in a week's time so maybe we'll hear from her then.

We are curious as to who is your cruise director or even assistant for that matter? Why you say, well, when we were on the Diamond this spring, Syd-SF, the assistant cruise director was Frankie--sorry I can't remember his last name. He was superb with his crazy sense of humor and did mention that he was expected to get on the Golden this fall and would see us in January heading to SA. There was talk and chit chat that he might be promoted to cruise director. I have been reading several of the Golden Roll Calls, but no mention of Frankie.

 

Can you track him down for us? I had zip luck while on the Island earlier this month. I am fairly certain Cactusrose and Big Time Cruise would also like to know this answer as they will be on the Golden in January.

 

I haven't forgotten that I owe you a martini.

Carol, I am as well on the Golden from Jan al the way to April and if it was Frankie (from Hersey Pensulvania) I would have heard his voice already!...he is a HOOT and have had him last summer on the Golden for the entire month of June and yes there was talk that he was going to be promoted. If he is on the Golden currently, than he has been very quiet thus but I will Find out. The Cruise Director is Paul O'Laughlin and I have had him before as well.

 

If Frankie is NOT onboard currently I will ask around to see where he is currently or if he is expected on here anytime soon!

Yes, I just woke up about 30 minutes ago after 4 hours of sleep coming back to the ship from the Grand Casino.

Good very early morning from the Golden Princess. I got bakc last night around 2:00am from the Grand Casino. I have been to many Casino's but this one is very Classy and Huge as well for Venice.

 

Took a water from the ship to St-Marks Square and transfered to a public water taxi and arrive 20 minutes later. I played for well over 1.5 hours and made some $$$ but not tons but certainly will go towards possibly purchasing those two Cartier rings later this morning if they have our sizes!

 

The sun is just coming up now and we have a thick fog over Venice that makes the city look so Medevil and Gothic this morning. The air is a little chilled and damp but to be expected at this time of year certainly.

 

Going to go and have a quick bite and head into Venice after 8:30am as most stores don't open until 9:00am anyways.

Forgot to mention that today we have our CC get together in the Wheelshouse Bar from 3:00pm until 4:00pm. Should be fun finally meeting everyone that has posted on our Roll Call.

 

Also, tonight is Formal Night!...(Yuk) but I may be having an In-suite Dinning experience instead of doing the Dog and Pony show as well....don't know so I will see how I feel later today. Certainly, I won't be doing the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Reception tonight that's for sure!

 

There is Champagne art Auction on today at 3:00pm as well, looks to be the same recycled pieces (just so you know Stacey I'll go and check it out before CC meeting for you).

 

One of my All time Dealers is onboard yippee...she paid out my biggest win EVER and I hope we can replicate the magic together as her contract ends on Nov 22nd when I disembark in Rome.

It's confirmed...FRANKIE is onboard!...Just read his name in today's patter. So when I see him I will speak to him as to when he is disembarking. I love Frankie and so did my Mother especially at Bingo when he would call out the numbers!

Today's weather forecast for Venice is Sunny, and scattered clouds and a high of 70 F which is just right as far as I am concerned!

 

Remember to tune in around 7:00am EST to see our sailaway and make our way thru the Grand Canal...it is an amazing sailaway, especially when the weather cooperates.

 

We'll going to go and get a light quick bite to eat and then start handing in my laundy and eventually get the motivation to go to the gym later today at some point.

 

Will write more upon my return from Venice this morning.
