When do you pay Red October?

I am confused. I've been reading on these boards that some people were asked to settle their bills with RO on Day 1 while others indicated that they settled on Day 2. We plan to pay cash and I wouldn't want to carry around that much cash on Day 1 if I didn't need to until Day 2.

Will those of you who have recently returned from a RO tour help me. Thanks.

We were asked to pay on the first day, and I was unprepared. If I were you, I would email Laura and ask when you are expected to settle. If you have a group, I would calculate in advance how much everyone owes. RO divided our bill differently than we had planned, and it was difficult to re-calculate everyone's bill in the store. We were standing at a tiny table with people waiting in line behind us. As I said in my post "paying for Red October," I wish I had paid cash.

We'll be in St. Petersburg the first week in September.

In reply to our email question as to when we will be expected to pay for our 2-day excusion, Laura wrote on June 15th, "On the second day when you have a visit to the Peter and Paul Fortress. We are located very close to that venue."

However, I agree that you should probably ask Laura via email. Possibly the day of payment is determined by your itinerary schedule, which might very well be different from ours. I would inquire if I were you.

We are with Red October in August. I expressed concern about carrying around that much cash and Laura said we could pay the guide during the City Highlights portion of the tour the first day. Our plan is to get cash from the casino so we don't have to worry about having that much cash as we are travelling to the ship or paying the credit card surcharge.

We paid on the second day.

Our tour arrived at the RO shop in the afternoon and Laura had seperate invoices made out, and waiting for each party.

Each one was different,as some had agreed to the extras, taking photo's etc.....which the guide had paid for them at the venues..

However it does pay to check your invoice carefully......

We were charged twice for an early admission fee .......

but when pointed out to Laura.....

she readily agreed and deducted the charge...
