? - Do X cruise ship offer naturalist onboard for Alaska cruises?

I assumed that X offers them, but would like to make sure.

I have not been on a cruise to Alaska yet, but I keep hearing over and over again About Brent Nixon, the naturalist on Celebrity. I believe he was on the Mercury this past season and was said to be outstanding. Perhaps someone who has heard him can correct me if I have the wrong ship.

We had a great naturalist when I went. She did five different lectures:

 

1. Humpback whales

2. Glaciers

3. Orcas

4. Other Alaskan Wildlife (eagles, bears, moose, wolves, etc.)

5. Salmon

 

They were a high point of the cruise for me.

We had one when we took the Horizon to Alaska. On my second trip on Princess their was one on that ship also.

Yes Brent Nixon was the naturalist on Mercury this past season. I didn't get a chance to hear him but my son who is a teacher thought he was absolutely wonderful.

I think Brent was the naturalist onboard for our Alaska 2004 Infinity trip. We sailed from San Francisco to Vancouver. If he is there you should go to his lectures. He was so enthusiastic. His bear lecture was very informative and entertaining. Apparently the had him tone his excitement down for his video.

On Infinity May 2006 cruise they had Sabin Robbins of the National Geographic Society. IMHO he was the worse lecturer I have ever heard. On the brighter side - at various points including Hubbard Glacier they brought aboard some native americans who gave one of the best dissertations I have had tthe opportunity to listen to.
