Luggage in Anchorage

We are spending a few days in anchorage after our cruise. My question is, we are taking a flight out at 12:30 AM. What can we do with our luggage during THAT day. We have to check out of our hotel by 11:00 AM, and we have most of that day free to explpre more of anchorage. Is there a place to store our luggage until we are ready to go to the airport??.

Most hotels will hold luggage for you after you check out. Then you can go do whatever you want until it's time to leave. Assuming you can get back to your hotel before you head to the airport, that would probably be the easiest thing to do.

Definately day check it at your hotel, inquire directly if needed but as mentioned above most all have this option. (I do it all the time in my travels). But you may also want to consider a car rental- you will do and cover far more in Anchorage if you have one- can make better use of a short time there.

If you're just looking for a place to store your bags for the few hours between check-out and your flight home, your best bet is to see if your hotel will hold your luggage for you. Most of the larger places will do this -- many for free.

If you're looking for more long-term storage, there is a luggage storage facility at the Airport that will store your bags for $5 - $7 each (depending on bag size) per 24 hour period. They don't accept credit cards but were happy to accept a traveler's check. We used them to store our larger bags while we flew to Nome and Kotzbue for a few days. It was very convenient as we could retrieve the bags from storage on our way to check in for our flight home.
