Some changes on the Monarch

Just finished a 4 and 3 night b/b and some changes have been made to the entertainment venue which are of interest. The RandR band that usually plays in the Circuit is gone and has been replaced by a quartet that plays good ballroom dance music in the Centrum and the Circuit several times each evening as noted in the Compass. Great idea for us ballroom groupies. The 50s nite is gone with more karaoke in its place. The Dueling Pianos are on only at 11:30 PM. The Latin bands continue in Boleros every evening with hard rock latin music which is usually too fast for our maturing legs. They are also doing some new game shows and more daytime activities. Still a good cruise value and we will continue to sail on this ship three or four times a year. Irv

Irv, is this a change on the Monarch? This is how it always is on the Sovereign, the other ship that has them.

Yes it is a change. They did have early like 8:30 shows and one or two late ones. Irv

We will be on the Monarch for the first time on Dec. 8 and am looking forward to the Dueling Pianos. I have heard good things about them. 11:30, hmmmmmmmm. Guess I will have to stay up late.:rolleyes: I can sleep when I'm back at work!:p

The pianos usually put on a good show but the real key is how interactive the audience is. If they contribute the show can be a blast. This also happens during the Quest scavenger humt. Irv
