Pride

I think any cabin w/ a balcony is SO much better than an inside. There would be no guarantee that you would get upgraded with the 4A, so if you already spent the money don't worry about it:) I was upgraded from a 4A to a 5A OV w/ an obstructed view and even that was wonderful compared to an inside.

We were on the Pride over Thanksgiving. We booked an IS guarantee and were upgraded to oceanview cabin #1195. Our last 4 cruises we had balcony so I was worried about an IS.

Anyways, we LOVED the cabin. We are from Florida so sitting on the balcony is nice, but not a must. THe Pride can have a bumpy ride (due to Pacific Ocean) so we were very happy about being in the bottom middle (best for movement). Plus we only had to walk up 1 flight of stairs for dining and the Taj Mahal where many of the shows and activities were (not to mention the Casino is on the second floor;) )

We took the elevator to the Lido deck for lunch and pool time, but figured if we were on the 5th floor we'd have to wait for the elevator there too.

My DH and I decided if we ever cruised again we'd go for an ocean view on the lowest floor in the middle - maybe about 2 rooms from the stairwell.

We did visit CCers we met that had a wrap around balcony - I think it was 5295 or 5195. Anyways the veiw and suite were spectacular, but the movement was too much for me. For the same price I'd have stayed with my OV room. Then again, I am prone to motion sickness and feel movement a lot but had no problem this trip because I took ginger AND the patch due to previous warnings. Still, I didn't like the constant movement in the back.

Good luck

Holly
