We took a cab from the ship to a place Choc Bay (or was it Choc beach?), but when we got there it was adjacent to a cemetery and a landing strip. Plus, it seemed to be more of a local hangout rather than a tourist spot. Of course, we were there on a Sunday and our ship was the only one in port that day. But, to answer you question, I don't know about the buses there, but the taxi ride to Choc was only a few miles. Though, I can't remember the exact dollar amount, it wasn't much. Since we didn't want to stay at Choc, our taxi driver recommended Reduit Beach (which we had already read about online). It was a little further from the ship, but much nicer in our opinion. There was a restaurant there, clean bathroom facillities, vendors, lounge chairs that were inexpensive to rent. We had a good day. We used Jerome's Taxi Service. Our driver's name was Jerome Edward and he was great and gave us prompt, courteous service. We tipped him well. The phone number from his business card is: (758)384-3263 or (758)722-8411. Hope this is helpful.
