woodley Posted December 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2006 I have just found out we have been given 8060 on the Jewel. It is an obstructed view. Can anyone tell me how I find out how much it is obstructed. We booked an ocean view GTY so only have ourselves to blame but we do have a little time to make changes if needed. woodley Posted December 10, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted December 10, 2006 Thanks for the info. I called NCL and they said there was nothing I could do. I said I may as well cancel and book an inside cabin then. The inside cabin worked out to be more than what I had paid for the GTY ocean view because prices had gone up. I told her to leave the booking as is. As she had already started to cancel the assigned cabin was lost and we are now back to "cabin to be assigned" which is good as we may end up with a better cabin. Umbarger Posted December 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Sorry, that web site is not correct. My cabin was said to be 90% obstructed per that web site. Found out it is hardly obstructed at all. It is best to be prepared for the worst, I guess. Then you might be pleasantly surprised.
beachlovingirl Posted December 11, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2006 I had friends who were in 8076 on the Jewel and I saw their room & view - you could see out 20% on one window and 50% on the other. The obstructed view outsides are larger than the inside and you do get a feeling of being able to see day light. We were in a Courtyard Villa which was wonderful, but I honestly was impressed by the space and lay out of the obstructed view and it was nicer than I expected for the price.
