All right everyone, I figured it's about time to start a roll call, after all we've only got 5 weeks to go!

I know several of you, like me, are going on this trip with Andy Cooney and the Irish Stars. Let's check in with each other here. Furkidsmom and 2skikids -- how have you been?

Many of us are staying at the Embassy Suites the night before the cruise. We'll have to arrange a meeting at the hotel or on the ship.

Can't wait to read the reviews and comments from those who will be returning this Sunday from the Med's first Caribbean cruise of the season.

Anyone else in CC-land going on this sailing? Let's hear from you! :D

<waves hi!!!

Now that we got the Docs I feel like we're ready to go. How nice to have something to look foward to after the Holidays!!!!

Has anyone thought of excursions yet? I can't log onto the Costa site for some reason. I did look quickly at the ones listed in the Travel Docs though.

We're not staying at a hotel since we live 2-1/2 hrs from the port. We'll just drive down that day (gives me an extra day to pack! )

There's got to be more of us out here. Spoke w/Cruise Specialists on Friday. Seems there's 1,100+ in Andy's group. WOW! The ship is going to be rockin'.

Great to have the docs! Just 4 weeks to go... the time is going to fly. Still have some details to take care of, like parking reservation on at LGA. :)

When you get a chance, send an email [nmcrn93@yahoo.com] to me so we can exchange cabin numbers. Wd like to meet up with another CC-er!

As to specialty restaurants -- on the Jan 06 trip aboard the Magica, we never ate in it. (I just couldn't justify the extra $$. And considering the folks that are traveling with us this time, I doubt that we'll eat there this time.)

However, it was place that each night had late night music by a performer of the Irish All Stars. It turned out to be a great "after hours" place to be as all the musicians would end up there. They would play for and with each other. It was a really special place and time.

Even if one didn't go up to the restaurant, you could sit at the indoor buffet area, have a slice of pizza or a coffe and enjoy the music as is floated down over the balcony into the buffet area.

What I can say about the specialty restaurant is that the waitstaff were super good and very nice. I would imagine they would be so for dinner too. I recall the waitress was very hospitable even at 1 a.m. When asked how late she worked, she told me that she and the bartender would be working until everyone left. The night previous to our conversation, she said the musicians and others were there until 5 a.m. :D

Hi Nancy,

I will be thinking of all of you while you cruise. My uncle is dying of cancer and my mother does not want to go. So we had to cancel the trip. Very dissappointed.

However, on a lighter note, I threw a surprise 60th party for this uncle and combined 70th for my mother and we had a blast., I asked Andy if he was available and he was able to come play with his band. It was an old fashioned Irish family party. My uncle was so happy and thankfully well enough to enjoy it.

Pehaps another year or trip.

Kathy

So sorry to hear about your uncle and that you've had to cancel your trip. It WAS a great surprise, though, for your mom!

The combined birthday party sounds like it was wonderful. Knowning Andy, a great time was had by all!

We'll do a dance in your honor aboard the Med. Hope to meet you on another trip.

  • 2 weeks later...

FurKidsMom -- We're countin' down! Planning on staging our

clothes on Friday night. (I hope my outfits for the two formal

nights fit!) Going to hit the stores on Saturday to fill out

the cruise wardrobe. And probably Michael's to get some toga

accessories.

Wish we could bring our furkids. They would love the view from

the veranda! :p

(Posted this on another thread, but thought you might not see it.)

If you email me at nmcrn93@yahoo.com, I'll send our cabin number to you so we can meet on board.

Just sent you our cabin number.

Our furkids would love it too. The only bad thing about going away for long periods of time is leaving the kids :(
