chrysalis Posted December 30, 2006 #26 Share Posted December 30, 2006 The ship doctor may be an independent contractor who is not licensed to practice in the United States. ...and the point of that statement is? ...no different than a Doctor who is licensed to practice in the US is unlikely licensed to practice in the UK...and so on, and so on..... Are you trying to say that they are any less skilled?

AliceS Posted December 30, 2006 #28 Share Posted December 30, 2006 Where is this unknown deck? A Lancaster Steeler Fan, I love it. We're from Pittsburgh, not a great year here, but we love our Steelers.
mii Posted December 30, 2006 #29 Share Posted December 30, 2006 here are pages of "little known" facts...... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=214933 Like chrysalis said this thread has been going on since August, 2005. In fact everytime I go on a cruise especially on a different ship I go right for that thread. There is a tremendous amount of info there. EmmaWoodhouse Posted January 1, 2007 #30 Share Posted January 1, 2007 A very silly piece of advice-- but-- in the dining room, for dessert, always get the souffle. I was ALWAYS the member of the family whose dessert kept getting stolen, despite the fact that by my fourth night of souffles my family were starting to chuckle--guess who got the last laugh! :)

Are you trying to say that they are any less skilled? I'm saying that the Princess ship is not a hospital and the passengers don't have any way to know if the ship's doc is any good, what country she or he is licensed in or even to know how long the doc has been practicing. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061217/FEATURES01/312170001/1025/FEATURES http://www.cruisejunkie.com/outbreaks2006.html
Clarkk W Griswald Posted January 1, 2007 #32 Share Posted January 1, 2007 I'm saying that the Princess ship is not a hospital and the passengers don't have any way to know if the ship's doc is any good, what country she or he is licensed in or even to know how long the doc has been practicing. Same could be said for any doctor you may need on vacation anywhere around the world, not just on a cruise ship. If you get ill while traveling in Europe, China, the Caribbean, or any town in the US, do you really know if the doctor you visit is any good, where the doctor was licensed or how long they've been in practice?
