chicagogirl08 Posted January 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2007 Did most of you use a travel agent or call the cruise line directly. For those who used an agent, was the agent able to give any type of discounts or upgrades for booking a lot of people? I am most likely going to use Princess for our cruise. Anyone from Chicago who has a good agent please let me know. Thanks:D
KAWS Posted January 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2007 I used a TA for my Princess cruise and I've yet to see a price that's even close to what she gave me. I'm here in Ontario and the TA is out of Florida, but I took a chance and it sure paid off. For my other cruise I used a local TA and her price is lower than anywhere else too. She couldn't touch the price for the Princess cruise though, so that's why I went with the Florida TA for that one. (Going Carnival on March Break). techgirlVA Posted January 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2007 We used a travel agent for our Royal Caribbean, and have on Celebrity too. From what I understand, Royal Caribbean (who owns both) doesn't allow TAs to discount off the posted prices, but they CAN provide Shipboard credits. We've always got the best deals via a travel agent (...or from booking our next cruise while onboard ship)
lena1279 Posted January 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2007 I booked my Princess cruise for a group of 25 through a travel agent and I got a great price and lots of onboard stuff - free picture for all of the guests; cocktail party; and a couple of other things. I would definitely go with a travel agent!
