What to do for a family in Cozumel aboard the Navigator

If I'm doing anything wrong, I apologize, this is my first time trying this. My family (wife, two daughters ages 16 and 13 and myself) are going on a cruise aboard the Navigator in August. Our ports of call are Cozumel, Labadee, Ochos Rios, and Grand Cayman. This is our first time on a cruise.

We've done a lot of research and frankly, it's a little overwhelming. Could someone suggest what a good activity in Cozumel would be? We've looked at Playa Mia Beach, visiting the ruins at Tulum, the Dolphin encounter, or snorkling?

Is it better to book these things before hand? Should we book them through the cruise? Should we try to arrange things once we get on shore?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Royal Dolphin swim! It was amazing! We booked thru RCI (ship) , only because we fear being left behind. Then after you swim with the dolphin you can tour Chakanaab(sp!) park (this is were the dolphins are). They have a beach, replicas of myan ruins, gardens & nice place to eat.

Cozumel became the hot tourist destination that it is because it was once simply a diver's destination. In fact, it was Jacques Cousteau that fell in love with Cozumel and made it popular with divers. The reefs, despite the thousands of divers and snorklers that explore them, are beautiful! The water is warm and very clear. On our worst day of diving the visibility was still 80+ feet and the divemaster apologized because it wasn't so good. It is amazing.

So, my recommendation would be snorkeling or Discover Scuba. Your daughters are old enough to try Discover Scuba and what an awesome thing to brag about to their friends when they get home. We've used Eagle Ray Divers for years (they even certified us in diving) and absolutely love them!

Browse their website, http://www.eagleraydivers.com, and see what you think.

Have a great time!
