ortley Posted January 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Just upgraded inside J deck 8 to guarantee ocean view H (no deck specified) but we could theorectically end up on deck 4. is outside still worth it. We were told by TA (AE Gold) that we would be assigned at check-in. Better to check in early or late - ?? We will be in Miami Saturday so getting there early is no problem but I'm not sure this is advantageous. Suggestions much appreciated now that we have taken the plunged and upgraded. foursum Posted January 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Sounds like a good upgrade. Assuming the Pearl arrives at 7am and you leave at 5pm, you can probably go to the ship at 11am and be onboard by noon. Might have to wait a few minutes to board but they have juice, water, etc and fellow passengers to compare notes with. Be sure to join the roll call for your cruise, if not already done. mlbcruiser Posted January 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2007 It all depends. We have usually sailed in inside cabins on over 20 cruises and actually LIKE inside! (Great for sleeping!) Normally I don't necessarliy think a regular outside cabin is worth the extra money (balconies are, however!). But we are sailing on the Pearl soon and because NCL's low to mid priced cabins are notorious for being smaller than most other mainstream lines', this time we booked an outside cabin to get a few extra sq. ft. and not feel overly closed in by the small size. Caution: I THINK there are some cabins that have windows that are more like portholes, but in your category there may only be the larger, "picture" windows. You might want to check on that, however.
