Has anyone taken the tour of this on the Explorer? If so, how was it?

I took a tour last summer and was fascinated by it all. If you are interested in oceanography, weather, and scientific stuff it should interest you. The whole thing was about an hour or so, and they took their time to answer everybody's questions.

yes, in June 06 - I thought it was very interesting - I would imagine it changes over time just like the people working in it do! Researchers come on the ship for a period of time to work on their projects. I think it's a great idea to put the equipment on a ship that travels basically the same route over an extended period of time, so measurements can be compared over time.

The tour is free, but there are set days and times. You sign up for the day/time you want in the Library. For the atmospheric lab (part of the tour), you go to the top deck and then climb outside stairs to the lab. It was very interesting.
