El Cid

Hi all. We hung out for the day this past week at the El Cid in Cozumel. It's the hotel right there next to 1/2 Senor Frogs at the pier. We walked over there, about 1 minute. We were charged $20 for 2 adults and 1 child. The nicest and most relaxing time. We met the El Cid representative at the pier. He said we could tour the property for one hour and then use the facilities, food and drink for free. We decided to save our time and pay instead. The swmming pools are small, but relaxing, nice and warm. The beach is small, but was not crowded. We were given as many lounge chairs and beach chairs with a palapa as we wanted. There were 2 ships in port that day, RCCL and Carnival. The people staying there were very, very nice. The beach can get somewhat rocky, so bring your water shoes. The snorkeling was at the sand as thousands of fishes were swmming right around us. We highly recommend this place. There were no string attacheds, not one vendor bothered us. Great mango margaritas for $4. The chips were definitely authentic and fabulous tacos. Would definitely return.
