Which Side of Train to Whittier?

Okie-dokie, then. Went ahead and made reservations for the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Whittier to meet our cruise ship. It's actually LESS expensive than the cruise line transfer, and I'm sure we'll enjoy it more.

 

Any side of the train preferred, scenery-wise? :)

seats are assigned, but the right side from Anchorage is the scenic side.

The water will be on your right side, you might see some beluga whales, depending on the tide.

 

The left side will be the mountain side you'll see the sheep up on the mountain. I'm sure the train crew will point that out when they get in the area.

When we checked in at the Railroad station we asked for the right side of the train. The ticket person was very accommodating and we loved the view.
