momof1cutie Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 We are going on our first cruise May 16 on the Carnival Elation. We are taking our 3 year old daughter with us. Do they provide snacks while the kids are in Camp Carnival? Do they let you take books or toys to your room? My daughter loves to read before bed so it would be great if we didn't take a ton of books in our suitcase for her. Thanks!
kitty9 Posted April 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2004 They do provide snacks but they will not allow you to take things out of the playroom. I don't think there's much a selection of books there, but you can check out books from the library. Darcie

Butterfinger1954 Posted October 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2005 My DH and I stopped in during the day at the Carnival Glory teen lounge just to check it out, and it was so cute all done up in Monopoly theme. There were no kids in there at the time. My girls loved the teen activities and their councelors. (ages 14 and 17) Kathy in Maine
Cruisin' Chick Posted October 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2005 I haven't been on that ship, but I wouldn't just assume there are books for your child's age group. It seems the ship library's I've been to have been the basic bestsellers for adults. there is a variety of board games on most ships. If your child has a few favorites, then take them along as well as activity books. On our last cruise, we picked up a couple of sticker/coloring books in some of the ports to take back to the ship (she wanted to stay in the kids' area). texascruisemom Posted November 6, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2005 We went on the Elation last month with our 5 year old (she was in the same group with the 3 year olds)- she had a blast! She did sooooo many fun activities (including having snacks). There is a "Space Maze" that they open up at different times for the different age groups (this is nice so big ones are not with little ones) and they do great crafts! My daughter came back with a sand art pen one day (that actually wrote) and a painted T shirt another day. She was able to feel like a big girl going to a dance party. We even left her until 11pm (you have to pay after 10pm) and when we showed up to pick her up she begged us to let her stay longer! I think they REALLY make sure your kids have a good time so that the parents spend more money in the casino and on drinks!:) Also, "Fun Ship Freddy", the Carnival Camp mascot, made several appearances!
