Beachgator Posted February 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2007 We are sailing on the Summit on March 3rd and wonder if the gratuities are charged to your Seapass account or you need to bring the cash for end of trip. I would appreciate any feedback from those who have sailed recently. Thank you for your input: Beachgator
sweetair Posted February 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2007 you dont have to bring cash...i cant tell you for the summit specific but on the connie we could opt for it going directly onto the card OR you can take out the cash at the casino (at NO charge) if you prefer handing the tips directly to the person (which i always prefer) have a great cruise! *sweet*
WhenIsOurNextCruise Posted February 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2007 You may fill out a form (your attendant will leave it in your room a few days prior to the end of the cruise) requesting the purser charge tips to your sea pass account. Your attendant will bring vouchers to your room with envelopes for you to give out the last day/night. It's a lot easier than handling cash. You can always add cash to the envelope if you want to tip more.
Kathie44 Posted February 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2007 Just back from the Mercury yesterday. The pre-pay tipping form now allows you to add more than the minimum. This is the first time I've seen this. RCI didn't do it last June, but may also be doing it now.
land lover Posted February 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2007 Last month on Galaxy our steward did not leave envelopes with our vouchers I got them from reception. Maybe since you can add the extra tip on now they have decide to save on envelopes. I saw a few people just hand the card(vouvher) to the servers. Toni's Mom Posted February 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Just back from the Millie - you may put tips on your seapass, but you must tip at least the minimum suggested in order to do so. You can tip more, but not less.
kehlx2 Posted February 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Also just back from the Mercury..our room attendant actually explained to us the why to use the seapass card for auto gratuities..it gets posted straight to their accounts--we also gave a bit extra in envelopes directly to each person we wanted to. If you have a Celebrity Visa, you can use that and get double points to use for shipboard credits on future cruises. There is also a "stockholder benefit" if you have 100 shares of RCI (The parent company). On a 14 day cruise, they will give $250 in shipboard credit. Go Gators!!
