misand Posted February 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Would love to hear what your favorite food on the ship was? My last cruise was the Carnival Victory. The free range chicken was out of this world! Desserts wer just so so! Pizza was super! Great cruise! We are going on the Graneur in 5 weeks! What should I not miss! babyjmomma Posted February 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2007 So far it's a toss up between the pizza on the Promenade and the shrimp and steak in Chops...
Cruisechic470 Posted February 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2007 it's WAY to hard to chose. The best part to me is not having to count calories!!!:)
misand Posted February 15, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted February 15, 2007 I was wondering if they had pizza, haven't heard any mention of it. What other things do they have there?

fanofseas Posted February 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2007 When I was on the FOS the last night they had key lime pie that would make your mouth water. The next cruise I take I'm going to ask for it the first night and hope to get it all week long.
FitzLA Posted February 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Nothing sticks out in my mind that much. Food on all my cruises is okay, and I enjoyed it. I have nothing to complain about but it was nothing to write home about. The pizza was horrible. Even on Freedom in Sorrentos. I think my favorite was the Key Lime Pie. Host Kewlguy Posted February 15, 2007 #13 Share Posted February 15, 2007 We loved the little turkey sandwiches in the windjammer for lunch on the Brilliance. We would walk past the hamburgers and pizza and head straight for the turkey sandwiches.
tinabinab Posted February 15, 2007 #14 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Three words: Grand Mariner Souffle!!! I tell them to just go ahead and bring me two. oh, oh, and on Rhapsody we had some bread pudding that was melt in your mouth good. I watched for it everyday after I had it in the Windjammer one day. Will be doing the same in April on the Splendour. :)
gadaboutgal Posted February 15, 2007 #15 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Portafino's Tiramisu. Like no other. Yum. It is presented in a chocolate shell the size of a softball and just soaked in the liquor, garnished with chocolate straws.
Dame Delilah Posted February 15, 2007 #16 Share Posted February 15, 2007 I Hate to admit it, but I love caviar! Give it to me on those little toasts with a bit of sour cream atop and I think I've died and gone to heaven!:p Another favorite is gravlox--especially when it is served as a BIG salmon on a buffet--GOT to Love it (!). :D Yes, I know, I can eat these things at home, but it all seems so much more REGAL when I'm being spoiled on a cruise! Oh, did I mention that I love Caviar??

Mikew0805 Posted February 15, 2007 #18 Share Posted February 15, 2007 The two dishes that stick out in my mind from our recent Splendour cruise, is the Filet for dinner, and the double strawberry cheesecake for dessert. The night after our cheesecake dessert, when the waitress started to take our dessert order, I quietly asked her if there was any of the cheesecake left over from the night before. My table mates ( and traveling companions ) said fat chance... low and behold she brought me a very large portion of the cheesecake. I ate every bite.  -Mike

OHCruisinDad Posted February 15, 2007 #23 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Portafino's Tiramisu. Like no other. Yum. It is presented in a chocolate shell the size of a softball and just soaked in the liquor, garnished with chocolate straws. The hands down winner, according to my wife, is the Tiramisu. I'm quite partial to the key lime pie and the onion tarts. :D
BonNYTX Posted February 15, 2007 #24 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Tempura mahi mahi was superb as was rack of lamb, escargot, tiger shrimp. Key lime pie for dessert was hands down my favorite. Didn't see flourless chocolate cake on any menu and I was disappointed since I read so much about it on this board. DH ate everything with gusto and loved it all. Couldn't name one dish that was his fave. He's easy ;) I noticed a completely different menu this time around on the Rhapsody than was offered in July, 2005. Food was good then but even better now. Do they serve the same food on all RCCL ships? Waving at CKRobyn and wishing her a fabulous cruise!
FitzLA Posted February 15, 2007 #25 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Lamb ShankFlourless Chocolate Cake :D You must have had a better lamb shank than I did on Freedom. The meat on a lamb shank is suppose to fall off the bone, and mine was tough and hard to get off the bone. I ended up getting something else.
