Anyone going on the western cruise, Magic on May 5, 07? This is our first Disney Cruise and we are taking our 3 grandkids and their parents. We are so excited, can hardly stand it. We are staying cabins 1056 and 1058, are those cabins good?

We were on the Magic that same week last year. You should have perfect weather. I have not stayed in either of these rooms but here are some reviews I found.

Room 1056

"Great location- near elevators and stairs. It was never noisy. Very comfortable".

"Room was great! Had no noise problems or anything. Very convenient next to elevators. There was room for my husband & I, our 3 yr old daughter and 1yrd old son in playpen".

Room 1058

"Room met all expectations. The location was perfect, especially the last night during rough seas (same could not be said for rooms on upper decks). Sufficient room, easy access to all locations on ship. Very quiet room even though it's right off the elevator/stairwell. No machine noises. Two portholes allowed sufficient viewing area and welcomed sunlight. Hope to have the same room on the next trip!"

Trish and Mike...Hi! We are on this cruise too! (and 22 other families I met on the disney boards) We are meeting onboard the first day in the Promenade lounge (deck 3) 3:15-3:30 if you'd like to stop by and say hi!

We are the Cinco Dis Mayo cruise group. (various designs of T-shirts with this on them). You are going to have a great time. It will be our 2nd DCL cruise. Me & DH will be celebrating our 25th anniversary and our 23 yr old son will be with us.

I am so excited about our cruise - we booked it last April on our first cruise. We have 4 (myself, husband, 7 year old daughter and Nanny)

Looking for another couple with a daughter about the same age.

This is my first posting on a thread (?) don't know the correct teriminology!!

Is there a meeting place/time set up for people to meet and greet

You can join our meet and greet at 3:15 on Saturday before the safety drill in the Promenade Lounge Deck 3. There are about 20 families that are on the Disney boards (I can't post the link). They do have some girls that are 5, 7,8, & 9 meeting. Look for the Cinco Dis Mayo cruisers!

Hi Trishh1

Sorry took me so long to reply - I am sure my daughter would love to play with your granddaughter - it is called the Oceaneer Club for 5-7 and for 8+ they have the Oceaneer Lab - although the younger ones do get time in the Lab to make cookies and goo and stuff.

We plan to get to the port quite early and get checked in to the club at the port - are you comming in from Florida or out of state? we can meet up in the port or at lunch or even at the Cinco de Mayo meeting at 3:15 in the Prominade Lounge

What do ya think?

ps my name is Amanda

This is my first cruise as well :) My boyfriend, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousin, her husband and two kids are all going for my parents 40th anniversary.

I'm now starting to pack and getting a little concerned that I'm going to forget something major...

I just wandered over to this board to see what people are saying about DCL and the Magic. I'm glad to see many first time cruisers in this thread and I see the "magic" is still there.

I like Disney in general. Did a 8 day stay at the Wilderness Lodge (my two kids were 13 and 15)) and did EVERYTHING. Before that we did the 7 day Magic to the Eastern Carribbean.

I envy you first timers on this line or better yet first time cruisers in general. You will get spoiled. A great ship for kids and adults. When we went we had about 8 other family members with us.

You are about to have the best time of your life. I've only been on the DCL line once but if you have any questions I have a pretty good memory of the trip. The shows are FANTASTIC.

But I think I'm done with Disney, for awhile. The kids are older and the wife and I plan on doing some cruising by ourselves. Disney is great but a little $$$ as you have seen. Plus my wife needs her casino :)

Fair warning for the adults with little ones. The Mickey pool is cute....but it tends to be a bit.....warm. And they will ask you to clear the pool often so they can drain the water and clean it. Bacteria level gets sort of high if you know what I mean. It is a running joke in my family to this day.

But don't let that bother you, memories will be created on that ship. Enjoy!
