firefly333 Posted March 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2007 I saw it. They had nothing for the Conquest and the only "special" on the Esctasy was a date that was $10 more than two other dates within 30 days this fall, made no sense they thought $299 was a special price in October to me for Esctasy. Im not willing to drive to Miami to get the specials, a non sale to me. As they said "selected routes" on sale only. I was dissapointed they didnt put the Conquest on sale. nadda. But thanks for posting
markandstacie00 Posted March 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Day one of Econ 101; supply and demand. We used to live near Baltimore and many people were so exited when several cruises homeported there in the summer 10 years ago. The thing was they charged so much more for a cruise that I could fly to south Florida and cruise for a week to much better ports. In Galveston it's not as bad but it is similar to where I live now; Tampa. We have much fewer cruises than South Florida, so they always get the better prices.....newer ships too! We have much fewer cruises than South Florida, so they always get the better prices.....newer ships too! Galveston has 6 ships currently. By this fall they will have 2, Carnival and Carnival, everyone else moved their ships elsewhere. We have a brief respite where RCI brings in the Voyager for 4 months early 2008 and the price is soaring on the Voyager. Believe me Iv been adding it up ok how much would it cost to drive or fly to Florida vs. drive to Galveston the day of the cruise. Carnival has a monopoly this fall, so Im thinking the worst about prices coming down, but ever hopefull. I check every day. :)
