booboo4031 Posted April 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Are the aft cabins totally unshaded? It appears that they are less private but are they covered at all? Any info would be appreciated. We are one in from the corner. Thanks Diane
serene56 Posted April 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2007 the balconies across the aft are not covered. Depending to the direction of the ship is how much sun you will get on your balcony. in this one you can see how big the overhang really is
caribbean dreams Posted April 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Valor, yes, lots of sun especially on deck 8, there is really no overhang at all as you can see in Serenes picture, you will also have no wind so the balcony and the sun beaming in your cabin window can get very hot. if your cabin is in the very back , the dividers are slanted so you will have way less privacy and see all you neighbors, if you are on the side aft (L-shaped) you will have alot more privacy. kimberlys Posted April 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2007 We always get the aft balcony and we are never "too" hot and the sun was never a problem. But then again maybe after a cold Michigan winter, anything is an improvement!
caribbean dreams Posted April 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2007 We always get the aft balcony and we are never "too" hot and the sun was never a problem. ! We have a heat issue everytime, the farther south you go the hotter the Balcony gets. BUT does that stop us from booking afts?? NO WAY!!
serene56 Posted April 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2007 the difference being one is sailing the aft in April and July is a huige difference. the heat and humidity in the summer makes the balcony sometimes unbearable..if youdont keep the curtains closed to the cabin the cabin can get somewhat warm too. Now sail that same aft cabin in February-- its awesome as the heat and humidty are bearable.
