jstpshe Posted April 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2007 These afts and humps are on hold for me for Alaska sailings! As soon as AI figure out which ones I want then I'll let the rest go. Actually made down payments on all of them yesterday but don't need all of them. Yes, my birthday wish came true and on my birthday (April12)! How fast is that for wishes coming true. I do have a small problem though, I have on the Radience 1600(corner aft GS), 1100(corner aft JS), 9256 and all the the middle humps available for the sailings I'm going on and now I can't decide which ones to take. GS 1600 is almost $1,000 more than JS 1100 and JS 1100 is almost $1,000 more than the D1 9256 and the humps. So we're talkin $2,000 to $1,000 extra depending if I get a GS or JS. I need 2 cabins on both sailings, someone Help! Honestly which ones would you choose, I understand with GS you get extra goodies and little bigger than JS, but look at the extra I'm paying to get those goodies and everyone loves 9256 as well as the humps too. So I guess I do have another extended birthday wish for anyone to help with and that is for you to honestly tell me which 2 would you choose for each sailing? Thanks for helping me out. CJ :) :)
jstpshe Posted April 13, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted April 13, 2007 was also curious as to how noisy it is above the 1100 and 1600 afts because of the Windjammer being right above these rooms? I want one good cabin for DH and I and give my DD and her fiance a cheaper one which since I'm paying for theirs too they can't complain! Can you help me decide please so I can cancel the rest of these cabins? Thanks, Connie :) :)
Donnaluv2cruise Posted April 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Connie, We sailed on The Serenade and had 1554. We loved the openess of the GS. You would definately have a lot more room then a JS. We loved the location of the hump balcony. We were right across the hall from the concierge and would pop in there for a pre dinner cocktail often. Also my husband would run over while I was getting ready and bring me a glass of champagne. However, I have always wanted to try an aft. The balconies look awsome. One thing about our room though, the balcony doors opened from the center so it was like the whole cabin opened up to the veranda. Makes your room seem so much larger. If you can afford it, I would go fro the GS.! Here's a few pics so you can get an idea of the balcony doors on the hump. Not sure if Radience has this or not, though, so you'd have to look into it further. Hope this helps!:)
lwos Posted April 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2007 Dont know when you're sailing, but I just booked Junior Suite #1100 for the June 29th Northbound Alaskan sailing on the Radiance. That's opened up Junior Suite 1546 starboard side, mid ship if you're interested. From what I know, they soundproof the rooms so I'm not worried about the noise. So far, all the posts say that AFT ROOMS are the most sought after.
salimandar Posted April 25, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2007 We recently returned from 8 night Radiance cruise on GS 1552 just around the corner from the concierge lounge which you have full access to as a grand suite guest (not junior suite) the suite was lovely and I would highly recommend it. I think its a fair bit larger than the JS. Nice sized bathroom and lots of cupboard space. hope this helps
