Anyone that has been on Carribean Princess, Eastern Carribean can you tell
me if it's better to on the port or starboard side of the ship as far as being in port is concerned?
Someone told me to get port side, however for our cat. (PS) only the starborad side was available.
Thanks

We fluctuate between. While in St. Thomas, the mountainside is a wonderful view. Charlotte Amalie is also a nice view with the boats coming and going into the harbor. IMO, anywhere in the Caribbean is a good view!!! ;)

Port side in St Thomas usually means you are looking out over Charlotte Amalie and starboard you overlooking Havensight, the dock that you woud tie up to. In St Maarten it is a crap shoot because depending on your arrival you could have ships on either side. I hope that helps. Frankly if I was in a full suite, I would not mind which side I was on.

Or cabin was on port side on the July 17 sailing of the Caribbean Princess. We docked at the main dock, bow forward, giving the port side the view of Charlotte Amalie and the bay (with the Carnival Triumph and another ship behind us. We docked on the left side of the new pier at St. Martin, bow forward, giving the port side the view of Phillipsburg and the bay. I had read a couple of posts before we sailed that said that they had docked on the right side of the St. Martin pier giving the port side a view of another ship. Maybe they don't always come in the same.
