SocrRiss18 Posted April 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Does anyone have or know if there is a housing that fits KODAK EASYSHARE Z650. Its a digital with a small zoom lens. The only thing I've found are these "bag" type cases that the camera zips in to, almost like a ziploc bag i guess. They say there completely waterproof up to 100ft and take good pictures through the plastic, even allowing for the zoom to work. I just dont wanna ruin a $300 camera. We're not certified divers or anything, just go when we can, so not more than like 40 ft deep or so. Any comments, suggestion, advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Rare pierces Posted April 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2007 The bag-type cases from Ewa-Marine are actually very high-tech (read: somewhat expensive) and work very well. Your options with Kodaks are fairly limited. Casio, Canon and Nikon offer dedicated housings for many of their compact models, but I guess Kodak hasn't had the demand. If you participate in a fair amount of watersports, you may consider investing in something like the Sea-Life DC-500 which is essentially a compact with a dedicated housing like the Canons and Nikons, but offers flash units and other options for divers. The Olympus 770SW is an everyday camera like your Kodak, but is submersible to 33 ft without any housing at all. It can also be dropped from about 5 ft. on a hard surface without damage. Many choices. I have found through experience that the perfect camera for all occasions usually turns out to be tow or three cameras! Dave
