RCCL and snorkeling

Refuse to pay for a vest.

If they tell you that you HAVE to rent a vest, point out all the SWIMMERS out there that don't have vests on and ask them why.

They will have to either leave you alone or give you a vest for free.

Don't know about Labadee, but at least in Cococay this will not fly. You MUST wear a vest in the snorkeling area, and this includes people just swimming.

I brought my own mask and snorkel, and just rented vest and fins.

I am not complaining about having to wear a vest. It just seems silly that they would charge you to wear one...even if you have your own equipment. Booo!!!!

I wanted to use those extra dollars towards a labadoozie!

We actually bought our own vests... at $20 each, they'll pay for themselves in a short time and they are much cleaner than the sometimes yucky ones we've rented.

Was there a particular kind???

And where did you get them???

I would rather have my own simply because I don't like wearing them when snorkeling. You can't dive efficiently with it on, even if it is deflated as much as possible.

I think this is where we got them... They are a couple bucks more than what I remember paying for them about 3 years ago...

We haven't ever inflated ours... they are totally flat...

I bought my own as well. From same place. As elleluv mentioned, it will pay for itself pretty quickly, since I snorkel a couples times each cruise and have two cruises scheduled this year and two next year. Rather have my own. At least I know where it's been:D
