Sailfish Posted May 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Is it true that I should expect an older crowd aboard the Dawn Princess to Alaska this summer? We booked this particular cruise as we reside in Northern California. so getting to the departure port was the deciding factor for us. But I am getting a little concerned based on comments made about the Dawn Princess. Age of my fellow passengers doesn't concern me, but if the ship alters its activity level to suit older folks, I wonder what I can expect. ANy input would be much appreciated. spongerob Posted May 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2007 I wouldn't worry too much. You'll get a broad range of people on board. Most people seem to be able to find something they like. And some of the "old folks" activities can be fun...even if you aren't old.

One reason I ask is because we are an active couple - we enjoy sports like scuba diving and shipboard activities like volleyball. We are also very interested in natural history so another reason we selected Princess was on account of their onboard naturalist. We are not too keen on napkin folding, bingo or spending time at the cyber cafe. The Casino isn't our cup of tea either. I plan to take a few books with me and am hoping the beautiful scenery will fill the remaining void. I just hope things don't shut down early at night - I love shows. Ms. J. Posted May 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2007 I was on the Dawn last October, to Mexico and it was delightful - a very mixed croud, and somethingfor everyone. If you go to the pool area bar, ask for Joel, the bartender, - he's the best.
