"Upgrade List"

I'm curious if anyone knows about an upgrade list with Carnival.

 

When we cruised last, with Norweigan, they had an upgrade list where you could pay for an upgrade if available -closer to time to cruise at a discounted rate. For example, a Norweigan (we had booked with a TA) rep called and asked if we wanted to upgrade to a mini-suite, from a Balcony, for $500. I did and all was well.

 

With Carnival, I can't seem to get a straight answer from my TA or Carnival. I don't want to pay the "actual" difference but wouldn't mind paying something additional to get them more revenue and me a good deal!! Does anyone know if this is an option with Carnival??

I've heard about the upsells on NCL but have never heard about them on CCL. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen though.

Iv heard of upsells if they need your cabin, but never heard there was a list.

 

Sign me up and probably almost everyone else here if you could sign up and get a upgrade for less than the going rate.

NCL has this Carnival doesn't. Carnival will ask you to if they need your room. Also if a ship is overbook they will call and ask if you will go on another date, in a very upgraded cabin. I was offered a suite from an OV. Couldn't take it due to air and work:(
