NCL Credit Card - Certificate. Send to TA or NCL?

Recommended Posts

I have $2500 in NCL Certificates.

When I asked my on-line TA if she had any experience with the NCL Credit Card certificates.

She said "no".

So my concern is if I send these certificates to her, will they find their way to NCL, or would I be better off to send these to NCL directly.

How have those of you who redeemed the the certificates handled this?

Can I also send the certificates I have now, in to NCL or the TA, before making my final payment? The cruise is not until next March, and I expect to earn another certificate or two before then. I just wouldn't mind getting $2500 in certificates out of my care and into NCL's, and sending in any other certificates earned later.

Thanks to the credit card and by putting EVERY, and I mean, EVERY expense onto the card. I no longer carry cash and charge meals, gifts, car payments and anything else I can charge onto the card. I have even charged an order of fries at Wendy's, mentally adding the 1/3d of a cent to my cruise. My wife also has her own card, and we have carry each others card. We watch our statements and when we go over in spending, we switch to the others card so we wont get capped in points.

This has allowed us as a modest income family to afford the AC suite on the Sun..

I mailed mine to NCL because I wasn't sure about the online agency which I'm using for the first time (great price). I sent a copy to the agent also to make sure she knew about it for final billing, since final payment is a couple of months away.

BTW, it wouldn't hurt to put "ATTN: Accounting Dept." on it.

I don't understand why you want to send them to the TA. Its another person who can lose them. I always send them directly and keep a copy. Technically they should be sent registered because they are the equivalent of cash but that is so expensive I send them by priority mail confirmation of delivery(which you get on the net). or certified mail r/r/r.

PS its looks like a registered letter with $2500 in insurance would cost in excess of $30.00. An overnight letter with signature is $13.00. A certified letter with return receipt is about $6.00 and an priority mail with delivery confirmation is $4.05 and gets there is 2-3 days.

Thanks for the answers.

I will send this to the accounting dept at NCL as well as sending a copy to my TA.

It is worth it to me to have the insurance on the package. I have heard its more then impossible to have NCL replace the certificates. So I'll shell out for the insured registered letter as it sounds like a safe bet.

Thanks NCL. I love my NCL Card.

I have always sent mine to my TA via UPS so I could track them.

The reason why I follow this strategy is that in the event of an issue crediting the certificates, thre TA will be dealing with NCL and not me. (I always retain copies as well)

This paid off for me on our last cruise as NCL royally screwed up the application of our certificates. (to someone elses booking)

It took a while to get fixed.

We had our reservations this time thru Casinos at sea and last year thru our TA. I sent last years certificates to the TA, since that had the reservations and they were getting my final payment. this years went to Casinos at Sea, which is NCL. We sent both with registered and return receipt requested. We just got back our receipts from Casinos at sea this week for our Alaska cruise. Now comes the final payment.......:)
