?? on booking airfare to the Med

Started looking into booking air for a Med cruise in 2008. I know with the "free air" you can still do some sort of "custom air" for a $75(?) fee. We'd be flying from L.A. and there doesn't seem to be any direct flights. In seems we'd need to pick up a 2nd flight leg from London or Amsterdam. With custom air can we do a lay-over in one of those towns and then fly to the cruise a day or 2 later? Anyone have any suggestions?

Here's my experience...we took the air credit from Oceania and purchased our own tickets from LAX to Zurich...where we are spending 1 night and then leaving the next day to go to Athens (where the cruise departs) and spending a couple of nights precruise. We received about $650 credit for the airfare plus a credit for all of the transfers because we were booking ourselves.

Hope that helps,

Linda
