maun Posted May 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2007 To those of you who have sailed the Majesty many times and know her inside and out, can you tell me if there are any cabins on Deck 6 to stay away from? Thanks for your help. ~~Maun

Thanks for your help.~~Maun We have friends who were in a cabin second from the end nearest to the casino and they heard slot machines into the night while we were at sea. I don't think it ultimately was too disturbing to them, but it's something to be aware of.
cruiserssandr Posted May 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2007 Also a lot of rooms on deck 6 the beds can not be put together.
candygirl27540 Posted May 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2007 The jogging track/promenade deck is above the outside rooms on deck 6. The posted time was 9am,but people started running around 6am. Not very good for sleeping in! I will avoid deck 6 if I sail her again, which I hope to before she's gone. What a great ship and crew.

Thanks for your help.~~Maun It's really a matter of personal preference. I always book Deck 6 and wouldn't want it any other way. It's convenient to the casino, Palace Theater, one deck up from dining rooms, etc. I'm going on my seventh Majesty cruise next month and my cabin is on Deck 6 again. I've been just a few cabins from the casino, and never heard anything once my door was closed. It's all in what matters most to you I guess. Good luck and happy cruising! candygirl27540 Posted May 29, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2007 I agree that deck 6 is convenient and I never heard any noise from the casino, but the jogging track above the outside cabins was hard to handle in the early AM. Perhaps the inside cabins on this deck don't have this problem.
Amazonite Posted May 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2007 We had an inside cabin next to a walkway (6041), and while we didn't have the problem with the noise from the jogging track, we did have loud banging early in the morning from the stewards' storage/service area directly behind our cabin. It wasn't horrible or unbearable, but somewhat unexpected.
cp556 Posted May 29, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2007 We had an outside on Deck 6 and never heard joggers. Of course, it was a Bermuda run and it was kinda rocky, so maybe that's why ....;) We WERE midship, near the center elevators ... and people tended to congregate there, so we heard a good bit of chatter.... Maddie444 Posted May 29, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2007 We always stay on deck 6. And always get the cabins right next to the casino. Never had a problem with noise from the joggers. We did hear the slot machines a little but was never a problem because we were usually in there till 1:00 am anyway. The casino is closed 3 days anyway when your in Bermuda. (Boston to Bermuda) We love this floor because it so convenient to everything. Happy Sailing! Maddie
charliev Posted May 31, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 31, 2007 I've sailed the Majesty three times, and agree with the other comments- we've always stayed on Deck 6 and liked it. The only thing I WOULD point out is that when walking around the deck, I noticed that you could definitely hear the music from the Deck 5 Royal Fireworks lounge in hallways (and I assume the cabins) directly above the lounge in the very forward part of Deck 6. So if you are an early sleeper and disturbed by noise, you might want to avoid the very frontmost cabins on Deck 6- but most of the deck should be fine. We are booked in 602 at the very front of the ship. How bad is the noise from the lounge below? The cabins along the front look larger then the standard superior outside rooms and that is why we chose it. What time does the music stop at night? charliev Posted June 1, 2007 #12 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Pete- Unfortunately I can't be too definitive, since I only noticed the sound when I was walking by in the corridor once. But I do remember that you could distinctly here the music, but muffled. That night there was a band actually playing in the lounge; usually there are only one to two piece musical performers, or comics, who seem to be scheduled in that space, and mostly before midnight ( 8 and 10pm, that kind of thing). Sorry I can't be more specific- maybe someone who has stayed in these cabins can add their two cents? - Charlie
cruiserssandr Posted June 1, 2007 #13 Share Posted June 1, 2007 We were on deck 7 on our last cruise and walking right by our room was not a problem at all. Sounds like it was worse was those on the deck below.

I am talking about above the Firecracker lounge. I am worried that they go to 2 or 3 am. We may be lucky and get an upsell to a suite - I hope. cruiserssandr Posted June 1, 2007 #15 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Amadeaus is usually in the Royal Fireworks and most nights they are done by 11:30. We were once in a room directly below the stage and it wasn't a big problem at all. We were ready for bed just as they were finishing up.
pdoeringer Posted June 2, 2007 #16 Share Posted June 2, 2007 Amadeaus is usually in the Royal Fireworks and most nights they are done by 11:30. We were once in a room directly below the stage and it wasn't a big problem at all. We were ready for bed just as they were finishing up. That is some relief that they do not go to 3 AM at the Royal Fireworks. I am going to keep our room 602 as it seems larger then the other outside rooms on the deck plans of the ship. I am hoping to get an upsell from NCL to a suite but that is only done after final payment is made. If anyone has been in rooms 600-607 or near them on deck 6 please let me know. Thanks Again, Pete
