jerseygirl63 Posted May 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2007 We hope to see the sunset in Key West and want to go to Mallory Square(is this the best spot?). Do you have any favorites restaurants near the square? Thanks:)
donato Posted May 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2007 El Meson de Pepe is right next to Mallory Square. It is in a big old brick KW building. The food and drinks are good and I like the atmosphere.
tessie40 Posted June 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Located at Zero Duval Street. Bar on the pier. Best place to watch the sunset! Next to Mallory Square

EricaLovesCats Posted June 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2007 I am putting in a vote for Red Fish Blue Fish. Very yummy! Homemade croutons on their salads! And its located right in Mallory Square.
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted June 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2007 Westin Hotel has a dockside cafe right by Mallory Square. We've eaten breakfast there often, but they do serve dinner and lunch also.

emcee207 Posted July 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2012 The pier at Ocean Key is great, decent food and unbeliveable atmosphere and view. Hey, a burger tastes about the same anywhere;)
GradUT Posted July 14, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2012 We recently ate at Red Fish, Blue Fish and enjoyed it very much. Good food, reasonable prices, excellent service.
capriccio Posted July 14, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 14, 2012 NHot Tin Roof - pricey but good Agreed - we loved the atmosphere and service and had a wonderful dinner but it wasn't cheap. That said, if I was spending a few days in Key West I would go there again.
Aquahound Posted July 15, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2012 We hope to see the sunset in Key West and want to go to Mallory Square(is this the best spot?). Do you have any favorites restaurants near the square? Thanks:) I'm actually not a fan of the restaurants already mentioned, nor are most locals. I recommend going around the corner to Key West Bight where the restaurants are much better. Alonzo's and Commodore are excellent. For more casual, I recommend Conch Republic Seafood Company. Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted July 15, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 15, 2012 The OP mentioned wanting to see the sunset. As I recall, you can't see the sunset from either Commodore or Alonzo's. I love the harbor view from Commodore and the view from the second floor of A&B Lobster House, but you can't see the sunset there. You can't see the sunset from El Meson de Pepe either unless you elect to watch the sunset at Mallory, then go eat, which is another matter. That option allows you to eat pretty much anywhere in Key West.
marco Posted July 22, 2012 #15 Share Posted July 22, 2012 Personally.....I'd have drink somewhere and watch the sunset then go back on the ship and enjoy a late night dinner on board. Probably better food, better service, certainly better price!

Probably better food, better service, certainly better price! Unless the op has a cruise planned that isn't in their signature, and it happens to be one of the only few that stay past sunset, they will be here on a land vacation. xrayjng Posted August 3, 2012 #19 Share Posted August 3, 2012 We stayed in Key West and had dinner at Lattitudes. you had to take a short ferry ride to get there. We thought it was great a little pricey but very good and romantic.
