BeachMartini Posted June 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Follow up questions... Can I bring my travel iron/steamer? Is that allowed?
heelfan94 Posted June 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2007 There's no public laundry facility on the Majesty. You can send things out to be pressed, though. It seems like electricron has a copy of the laundry prices. Maybe he can post those. :)
electricron Posted June 22, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Sorry, there are no self service laundrymats on the Majesty. But they do have valet services for a fee. Here's a photo of NCL's Valet Service Order Form.
electricron Posted June 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Follow up questions... Can I bring my travel iron/steamer? Is that allowed? Steamers are okay, irons are not. Many cruise lines ban irons because they are fire and burn hazards. Although NCL doesn't state so on their web site. There has been many posts and many threads about irons here, a search will bring up many suggestions on how to remove wrinkles from clothes without using irons. samdham Posted June 23, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2007 When we were on the Majesty last January, we were surprised to see an iron sitting outside the door of a cabin. It appeared to have "NCL" written on the side of it, so I don't know if it was confiscated and NCL wrote on it, or the person who was in that cabin happened to have the initials "NCL," or if it was borrowed from the ship. The cabin we were in had a fold out ironing board built into the desk, so in one lifetime, ironing must have been allowed. I also saw someone return a hair dryer to the on of the desks in the Atrium. So apparently some of these items are available to borrow, perhaps they use this method so they have some control over it. To be on the safe side, there are quite a few packing websites that have great ideas on staying wrinkle fee. We used a method that involved large amounts of tissue paper. Our suit case looked like a birthday party when we opened it, but the method seemed to work.
