cruise junky joan Posted July 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2007 Has anyone taken a flight seeing tour that can give me some idea of how bumpy, rocky etc. the flights were? I am terrible with motion sickness and would REALLY like to do this but not if I'm going to ruin it for everyone else.

In fact, we all noted that it almost felt like we weren't moving it was so smooth. We had a beautiful day tho - and I can't say whether this is how it always is. But one in our party was very afraid of small planes and prone to motion sickness, and she had a ball!
vfb2girls Posted July 7, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2007 I also worried about flying in a small plane when we went on a flightseeing tour out of Talkeetna using Talkeetna Aero Services. It was a very smooth ride and I didn't have any trouble at all. The day we went was one of those rare days that was sunny and no clouds in the sky so I am not sure if that is why it was such a smooth ride. What about taking some sort of medication for your motion sickness? We also did a helicopter tour with a glacier landing in Juneau and it was cloudy that day and kind of windy but I found that that ride was also not bad at all, not sure if you are just so absorbed in the beauty of things that you don't notice the flight as much. Budget Queen Posted July 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2007 Sorry, but you are asking a question that is predicting the future. You need to expect "bumps". And take precautions- bottom line. Consult your health care professional for what will be the best for you. I have taken many flights in Alaska, all unique and different. I've also seen several sick passengers, just no way to predict how the flight will fly.
