Where does Princess put the dead people?
I was talking with DF about cruising in general. The last cruise he was on was on Carnival and during the cruise, a man had a heart attack in the dining room and died. Apparently they stored the body in one of the fridges on board.:(

I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a "special" fridge for just this purpose or if most cruise lines just use the one in the gally?
Don't worry .. all modern cruise vessels have a mortuary fridge onboard

And surprisingly it's with the ships hospital, not with the galley...:D

I first heard the name Haley Joel Osment in 1999, shortly after the release of his breakout film, THE SIXTH SENSE

That one actually looks quite a bit like the ones on Carnival's Spirit-class... :D
I read this on another thread

The ship did not have a mortuary fridge aboard so they emptied the Ice Cream locker and used that. Free ice cream for the rest of the cruise.
Actually I find that story fishy at best. There would be some health regulations preventing that I suspect.

This post deserved to be brought back to life! It's so funny, I was shaking my head while I was reading it. You guys are nuts, and I thank you for that!

Observation: those refrigerators haven't had to be used for a while, it seems everyone is just slipping overboard on their own!

In the hope of laying this thread to rest.

I was told that there are two berths in the morgue of the Island/Coral Princess which get filled up pretty regularly. The 'guests' normally stay there until return to the home port.

I think it has risen from the dead.

This is the thread that never dies, yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started posting in it, not knowing what it was, and they'll continue posting in it forever just because...This is the thread that never dies, yes it goes on and on my friend.
Do days spent in the mogue until disembarking (talk about "final disembarkation") count toward your Captain's Circle points?
And, do they discontinue the automatic tipping when you die, or when your body leaves the ship?? ;)

That one.....it seems the emplyees get short changed on that one on extra tips......Guess that why some give a tip to their room steward on the first nite of cruise....very considerate of them:D

Wow... this thread is like a car wreck. Don't really want to look, don't really want to know... but a morbid facination compels viewing.

Death happens... I prefer not to dwell on it while cruising! No morgue tours for me. I've worked plenty of 'codes' in my job... I go on vactation to get away from thoughts of the injured, sick, and dying.

I missed this thread first go-round and certainly wish I'd've missed it upon it's resurrection.:)
