I was successful in getting points returned but I did it as part of the cancelation process. Not sure what happens if you try to do it afterwards.

How did you do it as part of the process? I use a TA so my TA cancelled it for me

I had used points to do a cross meta upgrade from oceanview to balcony... the cruise wasn't until next November but we've cancelled it. Does anyone know if I forfeit the used points or if they get refunded?

When we had to cancel a cruise where we had done a cross meta upgrade I called NCL Worldpoints department before cancelling the cruise. They reversed the cross meta upgrade giving us back our originally booked category and put the points back in our BAC account. I then called my PCC and had her cancel the cruise.

Not sure what happens if you cancel the cruise before reversing the upgrade using NCL Worldpoints.

automatically or do you have to intervene?

I have tried calling twice but I couldn't wait on hold more than 20 mins as I was at work so I haven't successfully reached anyone yet.

When you booked and used points you got a redemption email.

When you cancel you should have gotten a redeposit email. Unless you are in penalty phase

Definitely didn't get a redeposit email. And the cruise isn't for a year so no penalty yet.

I called this morning and was on and off hold with someone for 25 minutes. She ended up taking my number to call me back.

Points are redeposited up to day before sailing. You loose your cash though according to the penalty schedule.

2 days ago I just redeemed 60,000 points for a double meta upgrade on a 26 night cruise. Saved $4200 !!! plus it was a distinctive voayage when I grabbed it so I got 5 perks even for booking an inside to start with.

Hello MSDivina2016, welcome back from your voyage and I hope you enjoyed St Petersburg and Tallinn (Aug 2018).

I was wondering if that 26 night cruise you had booked using a double meta upgrade were actually 2 or more cruises more commonly know as a Back to Back cruise (B2B) or was it sold as 1 long cruise.

If it was a B2B cruise may I inquire what were the starting and end points?

Thanks & Regards,

Hi, I actually am still on a cruise for another 12 day's.

The 26 night is sold as two cruises but I booked it as one. I book 3 earlier this year as one 40 night cruise.

I have 2 booked actually for next year.

Buenos Aires ending in Miami and next fall.... Greek isle's ending in Miami.

Hello Steve,

Thanks and safe travels.

I'm going to try to book an inside cabin IA on a b2b cruise and do a double meta upgrade (60,000 NCL WorldPoints) to a BA balcony for April/May 2019, NCL Pearl (Jewel Class) from NY to Amsterdam (13N) and Amsterdam to Amsterdam (14N), (Total 27 nights)

I'll check on my next NCL Gem cruise (Sept 2018) with the cruise next agent.

I usually use a TA for my cruise bookings.

Worldpoints/NCL at 1-866-954-4077

closed on Saturday and Sunday

If the NCL Cruise Next people are able to accept a deposit for my B2B cruise then I'll put the deposit down then and there but any other suggestions or is there something that I'm missing or should look out for?

Regards,

Hello again, Hope everyone is well and Happy Labor Day to you!

Regarding the Inside To Oceanview Or Oceanview To Balcony Stateroom Upgrade On 5-Day Or Longer Cruise (Single Meta Upgrade) 30,000

https://www.ncl.com/world-points

If traveling on the same voyage, can you use your points to upgrade another person's cabin or can you only upgrade your own cabin?

Example: You want to upgrade another family member's ocean view cabin to a balcony cabin (30,000) on a voyage you are also on and also using points to upgrade your ocean view cabin to a balcony cabin (30,000).

was going to get the ncl mastercard since i have 5 cruises lined up.

and use the 30k point meta upgrade for a back to back in 2years.

then realized ALL of my cruises are either through CAS or solo GTY when there's no single supplement.

so in booking that b2b in 2 years to use the meta upgrade, i CANNOT book through CAS or get a no single supplement GTY special rate.

i have to pay regular price for a room. :(

that defeats my purpose for cruising, which is cheap cruises (free from casino or '$50/day or less'.. see sig)

Your losses though in the casino through all of your CAS bookings will certainly increase your 50 per day average that you like to strive for.

who said I've lost $ at the casino? :)

Oh.. most free cruise offers are from my land casino.

I usually only play craps and $15 blackjack on ships casino.

Ie: low house edge games
