Question Re Seattle Pier Construction

We are scheduled to stop in Seattle in September and dock at Pier 91. We understand there is construction - is it at Pier 91? Is this a new dock?

We'll be on the Radiance.

 

Where is it in relationship to the downtown sights Pike Place Market & Aquarium?

Are you certain about docking at terminal/pier 91? 91 is considered a cargo port (where there is construction going on). The cruise docks are at either terminal 66 or 30. RCL docks at 66 which is easy walking distance to Pike Market, the Aquarium, and the other shops on the waterfront.

Just as janabelle61 said, the Royal Caribbean and Norwegian use Terminal 66, which is smack dab in the middle of downtown Seattle. Holland America Line and Princess Cruises use Terminal 30 which is slightly south of downtown Seattle, near the baseball and football staduims. However, in the future Terminal 30 will revert back to cargo use and the cruise lines that use it will move to Terminal 91. Thanks for posting the map, buddma :) I was trying to find one, but couldn't find anything that was very helpful. Do you know when terminal 91 is expected to be ready for cruise traffic?

According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the start of operations at Pier 91 would be delayed by a year, to April 2009. So hurry up and take your cruises now, while the ships are close to the downtown area and the airport!
