Golden Princess - Shore Excursions Pre-book Earlier Than 120 Days?

Just did my daily check on the personalizer to watch our waitlist drop 2 or 4 numbers every few days. I was surprised tonight when our shore excursions became available to book and we are not cruising for over 140 days for now. Is it unusual to get this so early or could it be a glitch? Thanks.

Yes, I think it is unusual.

We sail in 120 days and I have been checking all week. They are still not available but I'm guessing that will change after the weekend.

If you decide to book any excursions this far out, make sure to double check later on. Sometimes it IS a glitch and what you booked disappears and they delete them from the system until the proper time when shore excursions actually do come out for pre-booking.

Just watch the site to see if what you book stays there.

Had this happen to us once when the excursions showed up too early. Had to rebook them when they showed up later on closer to the cruise.

We are within 120 days and they are still not available and I have read on a few rollcalls for people even closer and they are still not able to book. I tlkaed to Princess about it last week and was told they are "behind" in making chages to the shore excursion lists, but that they are working to catch up. So I would not hold your breath for this weekend. Best bet is to keep checking everyday.

Yes and Yes. It is a glitch, and if you book now it may or may not stay in the system. Happened on my last cruise, several of us booked when they 'opened'. A week or so later the shore excursions were again listed as not yet available. Two bookings stayed in the system, the third disappeared and had to be re-booked later.

Everyone - just wanted to say thank you for the info. We've booked 3 tours and I'll continue to watch online to see if a glitch occurs. I printed it also just as a backup. Jeanne - we paid our cruise in full at the time of booking so I don't know if that made a difference or not for us to be able to see the excursions earlier than advertised. Again - everyone - thanks!
