Brenkel Posted July 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Our family of four is looking at doing a kayak tour on Antigua. Right now I am looking at Antigua Paddles or Scenic Tours Antigua. Has anyone been on a trip with either company? Which any pros or cons for each company? Any advice would be great!
Cruising Lions Posted August 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2007 My wife and I did Paddles in June and had a great time. We first did the kayak eco tour then went to Bird Island and took a short hike to the top of the hill then snorkled. I would recommend this tour. teamkern Posted August 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2007 Just got off the Carnival Liberty and we enjoyed the Paddles tour. Conrad, your guide, is fantastic as are his team. Great adventure and we even learned a few things along the way. Would go again for sure! We were also traveling with children (7&8) and they enjoyed it as well. Did you do thru the ship?? and what does it cost, googled, and looks like fun, also we have 2 kids, 7&10, great swimmers, will it be good for them? We booked online (we paid OL fees), but like another thread has stated--discretion is necessary. When you get to the site (there is a bit of a drive through the island) you'll pay there--they will call out your name. Until then you just blend in with the cruise tour. The kids loved it! The hardest part with the kids was the kayaking. There are a few areas that are more open water and the wind was blowing that day. Nonetheless we did just fine and they have a boat that follows along in case you need assistance. The hike is not too long on Bird Island and you get plenty of time to snorkel as well. Awesome experience. Say hello to "Sweet Pea" for us. A beautiful bird she is (Conrad and his wife's)!
Brenkel Posted August 3, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted August 3, 2007 Thanks everyone for your replies! We will probably go with Paddles since I haven't heard anything about the other company.
