Jimmers Posted August 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2007 We are sailing RC Liberty out of Miami at the end of month. We will have a full day in Miami at the end of our cruise and want to take our own tour. Of course we don't want to lug our luggage around all day. Anyone know if there is any place to store our luggage pending our night flight out of Ft Lauderdale. Jimmers
BobBeaSea Posted August 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2007 Perhaps some of the downtown Miami hotels will hold your bags for you. I know the Radisson did for us a couple of years ago when we had all day to kill. We hopped into a taxi at the port, went directly to the hotel (took all of 5 minutes) checked the bags in and took the tram over to Bayside where we spent a nice day. Later in the afternoon went back to the hotel got the bags, tipped the porter and hopped into a cab for Miami airport.

eh2zed Posted August 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2007 If you arriving in Miami and leaving FLL and you are going to tour Miami for the day then you will need to have some form of transfer. If you rent a car and there are only 2 of you wouldn't you be able to get all your luggage in the trunk. Pick it up in Miami and leave it at FLL. Jimmers Posted August 13, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted August 13, 2007 thanks for the tips. RC only offers one excursion that takes your bags directly to Ft. Lauderdale AP and that is the everglades airboat tour. Our daughter's not into nature that much, more of a south beach kind of girl so all 5 of us are looking to see Miami preferably by public transportation. The hotel idea sounds interesting though it's hard to believe they would store it for us when we're not staying there. What's the catch?. I may look into an independent city tour that would keep our luggage plus maybe shuttle us Ft. Lauderdale. You would think there would have to be something like that. thanks again jimmers
