Liner Posted August 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2007 One of our favorite things to do in port is try out fine restaurants that have a view and, of course, amazing food!! I've been reading about Skyworld and it sounds like something we would like. Anyone been there? Do you have any other recommendations for dinner? We will be there in November from Noon until 10pm. We don't want to be late for our ship!! LOL
Pyrate13 Posted August 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2007 While the view from Skyworld can be spectacular at times, the food and service can go from mediocre to pretty good, depends on how the chef, servers, bartender and even the owner feel on any given day. One restaurant that has nice views of the Drake's Channel and is consistantly praised for their food is Brandywine Bay. The Owner/chef has participated in international cuisine competitions and done quite well. Be aware, it's not cheap and there is a dress code. Basically, country club casual. Another great restaurant in Road Town, and my personal favorite, is Spaghetti Junction but it doesn"t have a view. And by the way, don't let the name fool you, it's not just a pasta joint. :p Plus, you can hit the Bat Cave after dinner. For good food and a view of Soper's Hole, try the Jolly Roger in West End. Liner Posted August 25, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted August 25, 2007 Thanks Pyrate13 for your helpful information!! We've never been to BVI before. Is a taxi the way to get to these restaurants from the ships and are they easy to find to get BACK to the ship? I may have 'dinner party' shoes on ...those are the type that don't do well with lots of walking!
Pyrate13 Posted August 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2007 No problem getting a taxi. You can arrange a return trip with your driver for a specific time or the restaurant can usually call a taxi for you. By the way, the Jolly Roger will not require any dress up, shorts and tops are fine.
