Starbright Posted September 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Those of you who bring garment bags, do you carry them on board or send them with your other bags?
ken_nyc Posted September 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I always check them in with my regular luggage, but I use wire ties to lock everything up, just make sure you have a toe-nail clipper to take the ties off.
CLQ Posted September 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2007 We use a rolling garment bag and check it through with the other luggage. It's worked so far, although it did get left behind by the airline once. Got there the next day---which makes another case for arriving a day early. polodad Posted September 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I like to bring hanging shirts, blazers and tuxedo on cruise so my main luggage is a rolling garment bag (wardrobe) made by Briggs & Riley. It does a great job of keeping my clothes uncreased. Since it is a big piece I check it at the first opportunity.
#1packerfan Posted September 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I have a roller garment bag with a handle and I always check it. I do have TSA approved locks that I use also. I only carry on what I have to, everything else gets checked
leoandhugh Posted September 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2007 i think that depends on the toughness of the fabric from which the garment bag is made. I have one very lightweight one with thin fabric that i always carry with me for fear the fabric would be poked and ripped. On the other hand i have one on rollers that is sturdy as a suitcase and i always check that one.:)
