Hotel Colon, Barcelona

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Colon, Barcleona recently? Considering this hotel for a pre-cruise stay and would appreciate feedback re hotel, location, etc. Thanks.

I have not used Hotel Colon but have used Hotel Lleo which is just off Place Catalunya. Very good hotel, good location and good service. Will be going back there in 2008 for Brilliance cruise.

Hi, I stayed at the Colon Hotel 3 years ago, and am going back in a month pre cruise. Nice hotel, good location. Ask for a room with a view of the Gothic Cathedral.

I didn't stay at Hotel Colon but at a nearby hotel. The area itself is terrific. I would've stayed at Colon except the Cathedral was in scaffolding at the time. I did walk in to have a look at the lobby. It's definitely a grand hotel but older. Something to keep in mind, as there are a number of more modern "hipper" hotels in the area as well.

 

If you are going to request a view of the Cathedral, you might want to check that the scaffolding is now off!
