paying sign and sail account

Quick question...can you pay off your sign and sail account with cash at the end of the cruise? If so, how?

Thanks

Sure you can. You can do this by waiting in line at the pursers desk the night before you leave. You can stand there waiting for an hour. I would suggest to use a credit card.

On the Liberty a few weeks ago, we had a different issue in which we had to speak to guest services. This was the same desk as the pursers desk. We waited in line after dinner, on our last night, for 1 hour to speak to someone. Others in line were in line to take care of the sail and sign account.

The lines grow longer the closer to the end of the cruise. Iv waited several times, 3 to be exact, to resolve a issue which they kept saying they would and then didnt do it, so I kept having to stand in line again.

20 - 45 minutes is average if you have to wait near the end of the cruise at the purser's desk.

I agree that the purser's desk can be a busy place but just pick your time. I usually take my winnings (hopefully) from an evening in the casino to the purser and pay a little bit all along the way, then I just leave the smaller balance on my charge card to pay off when I get back.

I usually go to the Pursors desk twice. The first time is about 4 days into the cruise to pay my balance in cash and also make sure there are no erronious charges. Then I go the day before we get home to pay that balance in cash. This way the only charges are from dinner drinks and the drinks we have in Frankie and Johnnies(on the Miracle) the last night. Also always check your receipts before signing. We did not have any problems on Carnival, but when we went to Margaritaville in Grand Turks my husband noticed our bar bill was $115.00 instead of $15.00. Good thing he noticed. I have a feeling it is a scam that they do to tourists later in the day figuring you are not paying attention and probably drunk. Once you sign you can not dispute it when you get home. So be aware!

Happy Cruising!!!!

As everyone has mentioned, yes... you can, however, you will still need to secure the account with a cash deposit or credit card.

We don't go on the last night, we go the "next to the last" night and pay off the account. That way we only have just the small amount from the very last night that goes on our credit card....

We do the same thing. So much easier and much less of a hassle.

Walk up to the Pursers Deck and hand them Cash on the last day. If you are concerned about long lines, then set your alarm clock to 1am and go then.

I think the suggested amount is around $200.

This is going to sound really dumb, and I aplogize lol. If I give them $200, I can spend that money right? I want to keep my bill around $300, so if I put that money on the card I should be able to use it...?

Sure, you can use it but figure from that 200.00, 140.00 will be immediately deducted for Tips, thats unless you pre-paid it when you booked.

How much of a deposit would you have to put down?

Just a note, it's not suggested... it's a required deposit if you put cash down. If you use a credit card, they just put a hold on a certain amount (to make sure they get paid :D)

These are the deposit amounts:

Important Note: A hold will be placed on the credit card or checking account debit card at the beginning of the cruise as a deposit for an onboard purchases. This will reduce the amount of available credit on the credit card or restrict the availability of cash in the checking account. The hold will be released and actual charges will be billed at the end of the cruise.

The following dollar amounts, per guest, are used as a deposit and placed as a hold on the credit card when the Sail & Sign Account is opened:

2-4 day cruises: $100 deposit pp

5-8 day cruises: $200 deposit pp

9 + day cruises: $350 deposit pp

Not sure if I am understanding your questions. For a 7day cruise I believe its $300 pp deposit for SS Card. If you want to give them $200 Cash you can but then they will secure the $100 on a cc. If you go over initial $300 it will just go on the card. SO in essence if you spend $365, $165 will go on your credit card.

Here's my problem lol. I don't have any CC's. I had a debit card, but I just switched banks, and haven't receieved my new card yet. I'm not going to have it in time for the cruise. So when I board, I want to just put cash on my s&s card.

Although, I'm sure the BF wouldn't mind just linking my card to his cc and then I could just give him the cash... that makes sense! :o

You can use your BF credit card and give him the cash you owe him when you get your sail & sign bill at the end of the cruise. Be sure you check your account every night on the T.V. set, each Sail & Sign card has its own account, enter the folio number of each card on the T.V. set.
