grandmaof7 Posted October 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2007 I have some questions about tour #15. When traveling from Fairbanks to Denali, do you stop at the hotel first, or do you go straight to the bus? Are there frequent stops for breaks and to stretch your legs on the 8 hour bus tour? If there are stops, what is the longest amount of time riding on the bus? The other bus rides on this tour, what is the length of time for each ride? Do you make frequent stops? Are all passengers able to see all the sights?

Budget Queen Posted October 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2007 It depends when the Tundra Wilderness tour is scheduled. Sometimes you do have only a short time before going, but it is only a 2+ hour bus ride Fairbanks/Denali park, you need to look and see if any tours are scheduled that morning?? Boat and/or gold dredge?? Bathroom stops on all buses in Denali Park is approx every 90 minutes. With Shuttle buses, you can ride ANY bus, tour buses are usually completely full and you do have to stay with your bus, if you don't want to RETURN on a shuttle. You may have to juggle around to get an open window view, but necessary is a good pair of binoculars, at least 10 power, in my opinion. Are all passengers able to see all the sights? We did a similar tour several years ago with Celebrity and I believe they do the same as RC. And the answer to your questions are mostly YES. There are frequent stops when traveling from city to city. When on the domed train car there is an easily accessable bathroom. The ride in Denali N'l park is long, but as Budget Queen already said, there are frequent stops and bathroom breaks (nice bathrooms). We traveled in the same bus, the views are great from very large windows, and if you pack "smart", you can leave most of your "cruise" luggage in the bus the entire land part of the trip. We never touched a suitcase the entire week. When arriving at the next hotel, we were given our room keys in the bus before we even got off. Our luggage would appear very shortly after we got to our rooom. In the am, they picked our luggage up at the room and took it to the bus. It was a very easy, relaxed trip. We are going to Alaska again in 2008 and have booked the cruise tour again, but are thinking of trying to do the land part on our own. If we do, we sure will miss all the pampering we got while on the land part of the trip with Celebrity.
