Anyone done a similar cruise (Barcelona/Malta/ Naples/Rome/Livorno/Nice/Barcelona)???

 

I am wondering how expensive it may be for our group of 4 to book our own taxis, busses, etc. compared to using the cruise lines' expensive tour/transfer options?

 

The cruise want $100 each just for the bus ride into and out of Rome, not much less for Livorno. I've been to Europe before, but not via a cruise.

 

I would appreciate any ideas........:D

Compare the cruise line off shore excursion prices with AAA and local tours companies (www.limoservicesrome.com/romeattransfer.htm) in the ports of call. They all know what the cruise line charge so they will get as much as they feel they can get not quite up to the cruise line price and here you have to bargain. But the American dollar is now worth $1.50 cents (screw the pennies) for one euro so they will hit you hard.

 

Its a question of degree of how much you are willing to be fleeced. Petertimber
